From 13 July to 29 August 2026, Gulsah Sevimli completed a Short-Term Scientific Mission at the Center for Medical Research, Medical University of Graz, Austria, within COST Action CA21151 HAPLO-iPS.
Her project investigated interactions between peptide-functionalised, plant-oil-based hydrogels and stem cells, using genetically encoded biosensors and live-cell imaging. These approaches enabled her to examine cellular signalling, metabolism and responses under controlled experimental conditions.
During the mission, Gulsah gained hands-on experience in stem cell culture and advanced biosensor-based imaging, bringing together biomaterials and stem cell research in an interdisciplinary setting. The visit provided an opportunity to develop experimental skills and exchange knowledge with researchers at the host institution.
The STSM also strengthened collaboration between Sabancı University and the Medical University of Graz, highlighting the role of HAPLO-iPS scientific exchanges in supporting researcher training and international cooperation.
