Sergi Querol

Sergio Querol is a haematologist, specialist in hematopoietic stem cell transplantation and cell therapy. He is the current Director of the Spanish Bone Marrow Register. His background was mainly dedicated to stem cell transplantation. He served as Director of the Barcelona Cord Blood Bank for more than twenty years and was instrumental in developing the Anthony Nolan Cord Blood Bank in the UK. He has also experience in cellular therapies as he was Director of the Cell Therapy Services at the Catalan Blood and Tissue bank, a central facility serving more than 500 transplants per year. This center is a FACT-Netcord and JACIE accredited laboratory and has additional facilities to manufacture advanced therapy medicinal products like CAR-T cells, TILs or MSC. He contributed to create the first clinical-grade iPSC bank in Spain.
